the radio could be used to send messages between devices, seems plausible that the messages could even be encrypted so only authorized flippers could read them. Also the radio could be set to occasionally broadcast and search for beacons from other nearby flippers.

This is a great idea, definitely possible with the Radios!

via CLI there is a sub ghz chat. flippers in range can already exchange messages
